Ag Ed Society
-
Alpha Tau Alpha/Ag Ed Society is an organization for agricultural education majors at the University of Missouri. The purposes of the organization are to increase professional acquaintance and friendship among students enrolled in agricultural education, develop a professional attitude toward agricultural education and to assist students in determining their qualifications for careers in agricultural education.
Many leadership opportunities are available for students in the organization. Interested students may become members by paying annual dues of $5. It is suggested that students be agricultural education majors and in good academic standing with the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. Students may become active members in the organization during their first semester at MU.
After completing 60 credit hours in courses leading to an agricultural education degree with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, members are eligible to be part of the honorary group known as Alpha Tau Alpha.
The Ag Ed Society holds at least two regular meetings a month during the academic year, with the dates set by the executive committee. Their activities include participation in state agriculture and FFA Career Development Events, meeting programs and professional activities. Members have many opportunities to participate in social and professional events throughout the year.
